2007
Inception
Working alone from the attic of his parent’s home, MD David Wadsworth founded Cornerstone Design & Marketing with a £1,000 overdraft and a handful of clients in 2007.
2009
The first major client – North West Ambulance Service
The relationship, which is still firmly in place today, came about when NWAS needed a re-brand to align with its ambition of moving to foundation trust status and was the result of a recommendation from another Cornerstone client.
2010
Leisure clients
Cornerstone has forged an unrivalled reputation within the leisure and wellbeing industry, with many clients coming on board through word-of-mouth recommendations. Cornerstone’s leisure portfolio now totals 10+ and is still growing.
2017
Pharma clients
The introduction to pharma came in 2017, again via a referral, when Dexcel became a client, and we’ve gone on to cement our place in the sector with our fully integrated, agile and nimble approach to the way we work.

PR – the final piece of the creative jigsaw
The addition of a dedicated PR department in 2017 was the final piece of the Cornerstone full-service jigsaw. It’s home to media industry veterans Gill Potts, PR Manager, and PR and copywriter Nigel Wareing, who between them have over 70 years’ media experience!
2019
Print room – a new string to the bow
Our highly specialised production studio and signage division began life while we were still based at Woodend Mills and has grown in size and capability with every office move since, culminating in our current, purpose-built workspace opened in 2019.
2020
The pandemic
During the unprecedented times of Covid-19 lockdowns, our mindset of ‘we’re in this together and we’ll get through it together’ kept clients with us and instead of hunkering down, we actually struck out and got more work!
